<image:title>Commonly Treated - Depression</image:title>
<image:caption>Depressive disorder, frequently referred to simply as depression, is more than feeling upset. It is a serious mental health condition that requires understanding and medical care. Left untreated, depression can be devastating for those who have it and their families. Fortunately, with early detection and diagnosis, many can recover. Treatment plans consist of medication, psychotherapy, and suggesting healthy lifestyle choices. Some will only experience one depressive episode in a lifetime, but for most, depression is a recurring disorder. Without treatment, episodes may last from a few months to several years.</image:caption>

<image:title>Commonly Treated - Anxiety</image:title>
<image:caption>We all experience anxiety. Speaking in front of a group can make us anxious, but that anxiety motivates us to prepare and practice. Driving in heavy traffic can also make us anxious, but it helps keep us alert to avoid accidents. However, when feelings of intense fear and distress become overwhelming, and they prevent us from doing everyday activities, an anxiety disorder may be the cause.</image:caption>

<image:title>Commonly Treated - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder</image:title>
<image:caption>Traumatic events—such as an accident, assault, military combat, or natural disaster—can have lasting effects on a person’s mental health. While many people have short term responses to these events, some will develop longer term symptoms that can lead to a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD symptoms often co-exist with other conditions, which may include substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. A comprehensive medical evaluation will provide an individualized recovery plan for you.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Bipolar disorder is a form of mental illness that causes dramatic shifts in a person’s mood, energy, and ability to think clearly. People with bipolar disorder experience high and low moods—known as mania and depression—which differ from the typical ups-and-downs most people experience.</image:caption>

<image:title>About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>Mindfully Mental Health is a telepsychiatry and psychotherapy practice based in Houston, Texas. Dr. Lindsay Raymer started Mindfully in response to a growing demand for simple, personalized care that fits easily into your day. Proven therapy methods as well as effective medications ensure that patients receive the same care they would in person. Using telemedicine eliminates the stress in arranging childcare, traffic, or sitting in the waiting room, and allows patients to have more time for themselves. Virtual appointments are a safe, HIPAA compliant, and convenient method of getting the personalized treatment plan you need to be fully you. Experiencing sadness and questioning the meaning behind emotional pain motivated Dr. Raymer to learn how to help herself and others move beyond suffering and thrive in any setting. She set out to understand the scientific aspects behind thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, but she found that our relationships are just as important as chemistry and anatomy. Dr. Raymer received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and her Medical Degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her psychiatry residency at the Baylor College of Medicine Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science and affiliated hospitals, including Houston Methodist Hospital, The Menninger Clinic, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Ben Taub General Hospital. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians. She stays involved with medical education as a voluntary faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine. When not seeing patients, she enjoys time with her husband and two amazing daughters, being outdoors, and keeping active.</image:caption>
